About the Brand

Q: What is your mission?

A: We aim to empower communities through impactful designs while supporting non-profits working on justice, equality, and safe spaces for marginalized groups. Every purchase you make contributes directly to these efforts.

Q: How do you choose the non-profits you support?

A: We carefully vet non-profits that align with our mission, focusing on transparency, measurable impact, and dedication to causes like social justice, equity, and human rights.

Q: What initiatives do you take to support marginalized communities and fight tyranny?

A: We’re actively building a movement rooted in safety, equality, and democracy. Here are some of the key ways we’re showing up—and growing:

  • Empowering through art and information: We use bold, informative designs to spread truth, foster unity, and ignite collective power.

  • Partnering with marginalized creators: We currently collaborate with disabled crafters, makers, and creators to produce quality goods while supporting one of the most vulnerable communities. Our long-term goal is to expand these partnerships to other marginalized groups.

  • Combating censorship with joy: We fight book bans by gifting banned books and stocking Little Free Libraries—especially in areas hit hardest by censorship legislation.

  • Funding frontline efforts: A portion of every purchase is donated to non-profits and coalitions working directly with impacted communities and defending democracy.

  • Supporting grassroots movements: We partner with grassroots organizations to fundraise for their causes, and we aim to dedicate as much time and labor as possible to help emerging groups build capacity and achieve their goals.

 

Purchases and Donations

Q: How does my purchase contribute to donations?
A: A portion of every purchase is donated to one of several non-profits or coalitions we support. Each month, we feature a dedicated “organization of the month,” and all donations for that calendar month go directly to them. We’re committed to transparency, so we regularly share updates on where your contributions go and the impact they help create.

Q: Can I choose which non-profit my purchase supports?
A: For now, donations go to our “organization of the month.” A banner on each product page will show which organization we are currently partnering with—these will change month to month. In the future, we hope to give customers the option to select where their donation goes.

 

Products and Merchandise

Q: Where are your products sourced?
A: Most of our products are made in-house, and we also collaborate with a community of independent crafters and makers. Some items come directly from these partners, and a few are fulfilled through a third-party warehouse. Our long-term goal is to bring all production in-house and create job opportunities for people from disenfranchised communities.

Q: Can I suggest a design or slogan?
A: Absolutely! We love hearing from our community. You can submit ideas through our “Contact Us” page. If you don’t see your cause represented yet, know that we’re always expanding and evolving our collections.

Books and Mystery Packages

Q: How do you curate your book collection?
A: We’re passionate about used books—both because we love them and because sourcing secondhand helps support local libraries and independent bookstores. Our Rebel Reads Mystery Packages typically include used books in “Like New” or “Very Good” condition, though we occasionally use new books to keep up with demand.
The pre-loved titles in the Resistance Bookstore and Banned & Burned collections are generally in “Good” condition. Books in “Fair” or “Poor” condition are donated to Little Free Libraries in communities impacted by sweeping book bans.

Processing and Shipping 

Q: How long does processing take?

A: processing typically takes 7-10  business days. You’ll receive notification once your order is processed and ready to ship. 

Q: How long does shipping take?

A: Standard shipping typically takes 3–7 business days. You’ll receive tracking information once your order is on its way. Please be aware, your order may arrive in separate packages, possibly on separate days. You will receive emails with tracking information. 


Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds 

Q: What is your return policy?

A: Any claims for misprinted/damaged/defective items must be submitted within 30 days after the product has been received. Claims deemed an error on our part are covered at our expense. Email us as soon as possible for a hassle free replacement. Please include a photo of the defective product with your request for replacement. 

For packages lost in transit, all claims must be submitted no later than 30 days after the estimated delivery date. Wrong Address - If you provide an address that is considered insufficient by the courier, the shipment will be returned to our partner facility. You will be liable for reshipment costs once we have confirmed an updated address with you (if and as applicable).


Transparency and Impact

Q: How can I see the impact of my purchase?

A: We provide regular updates on our website and through our social networks, highlighting the donations we’ve made and the progress of our non-profit partners.

Q: Are you a non-profit?

A: No, we are a for-profit business with a mission-driven approach. By collaborating with non-profits, we amplify our shared values and create meaningful impact together. Our goal is to eventually be a co-op lead business.

Q: How can I support beyond making a purchase?

A: Spread the word! Share our mission with your friends and family, follow us on social media, or volunteer with the non-profits we support. Don't forget to contact your local politicians and leaders to demand equal rights! Also check out our ACT tab for more idea on how to effect change.
